Ik kan uit ervaring zeggen, na een aantal dagen rijst/vis/kip, smaakt het uitstekend (ben dan ook geen vis liefhebber).

De Paparazzi Klootzak in de problemen??

Was gistermorgen in Matiao Marketing en maakte een foto van een paar welding transformers voor een vriend









Normaal gesproken niets aan de hand......

Matiao is een hardware store die hier al vele jaren bestaat en is eigendom van een zeer rijke Chinese familie nl: Uymatiao, waarvan sommigen vriendelijk zijn maar ook sommigen zeer arrogant
Vroeger tot in 2008 zaten ze ergens anders (bijna de gehele perdices straat is van Matiao) en ze waren vroeger zeer duur.
Nu zitten ze 50 meter verder in een nieuw gebouw en nu zijn hun prijzen vanwege competition zeer redelijk met een goede vooraad artikelen.

Toen kwam ik gistermiddag terug om naar iets anders te kijken (vaak kom ik alleen maar kijken en niet kopen, maar ik heb daar voor een verbouwing zeer veel gekocht vorig jaar).

Plotseling kwam de eigenaar op mij af stevenen en schreeuwde het bijna uit: " I SAW YOU TAKING PICTURES THIS MORNING"
Hij vervolgde, en liep bijna rood aan: " We have a policy here and thereby you are not allowed to take pictures and there is a signboard for thereto".

Er waren op dat moment een aantal andere  klanten en een aantal personeelsleden dus hield ik wijselijk mijn grote kop dicht want je weet nooit als blanke alleen met zoveel  om je heen.
Toen riep hij een floormanager of zoiets en vertelde hem in luide stem: " If any of you see this foreigner taking pictures again you should immediately call the security guards and force him to leave my store".

Nog steeds hield ik mijn kop dicht en toen riep hij een security guard en vertelde hem in luide stem: " If any of you see this man taking pictures again you will have to take him outside and don't be afraid of the foreigner, you hear me???"

Even later liep de man kwaad weg en ik liep toen de tool-section binnen en ik kreeg een heel leger achter me aan en toen deed ik net of ik mijn camera uit mijn tasje haalde en deed een ritssluiting open en ik hoorde ze al genieten en de guard roepen.
Toen haalde ik in plaats ven de camera een zakje groene thee uit het tasje en dat was een afgang voor hun
Ik ga nu een brief schrijven aan de eigenaar en stuur die via JRS waarin ik hem mijn kant van het verhaal vertel en hem er op ga wijzen dat hij wat meer diplomacy had kunnen gebruiken want natuurlijk volg ik zijn "rules" want dat is geen enkel porbleem voor mij.
Maar hij had mij ook terzijde kunnen nemen en zeggen: " Thank you for shopping @Matiao, but we have a policy here whereby you are not allowed to take pictures".
Dan zou ik gezed hebben: " Ok sir, no problem at all, and it won't happen again and I do hereby apologize for the inconveniance".
Maar tot gister aan toe werd er nooit iets van gezegd.
Vanmorgen vroeg ik aan een money-changer kennis om de winkel binnen te gaan om te zoeken naar het signboard met het opschrift: "Picture taking is not allowed"
Maar zoals ik al had verwacht was er alleen een aankondiging: "SMILE, YOU ARE ON CAMERA".
Maar dat is geen probleem.
Dus de Chinees blufte en dacht waarschijnlijk: "Ok dat is weer een stomme witneus

De man haat buitenlanders want ik zag en hoorde een keer een Amerikaan zeggen tegen de Chinees: "Alles wat in China gemaakt wordt is rotzooi.

Nu maar een brief schrijven met niet al teveel aantijgingen jegens de man want ze kunnen zeer gemakkelijk een huurmoordenaar vinden.
De goedkoopste liggen ergens rond de 4000 pesos en de echte professionelen zijn tegen de 100,000 pesos, afhankelijk van het target.
Om een Klootzak dood te schieten heb je waarschijnlijk niet meer dan 5000 pesos nodig?
Nu maar eerst de brief schrijven en dan maar afwachten want ik heb toch nog spullen nodig uit zijn winkel.
Maar hij heeft NIET gezegd dat ik NIET meer in de winkel mocht komen, maar als ik een heel leger achter me aan moet krijgen dan hoeft het voor mij ook niet meer.

Dear sir,

Kindly attend to the understated subject matter:

The facts:
On August 28, 2011, I had the honor to visit Uymatiao Marketing Corporation in order to purchase a LPG-regulator.
The day before, I was requested by a friend in Bacong to take some pictures of portable welding-transformers for reason that he wanted to see these pictures before deciding to purchase one of them.
Likewise, I took a picture of some battery-chargers for reason that I wanted to buy one but could not make up my mind on how many amperes the unit should be.
On that same afternoon I returned to Uymatiao Marketing to purchase a medicine-cabinet.
At the time I was about to purchase the selected medicine-cabinet you yourself approached me and informed me in a raised voice that you saw me taking pictures that same morning. Furthermore you likewise told me in a raised voice that picture taking was not allowed inside the premises of Uymatiao Trading Corporation. You informed me thereby that there was also a signboard set up in Uymatiao Trading Corporation on which it was clearly described that picture taking was prohibited.
My reaction was to inform you that I would respect the rules you set in your corporation and that from that moment on I would refrain from taking any more pictures.
However, and to my utmost surprise, you continued in in a raised voice in front of your personnel and a few customers (one of them was there to canvass a water-heater on my advice) by scolding me and at such time called one of your personnel and told him that whenever he or any of your personnel saw me taking pictures again they should immediately call the security guards to bring me out of the premises. A moment later one of your security guards joined the scene and you told him (thereby once more pointing your finger at me) that whenever someone approached him because of this foreigner taking pictures inside your store he should not be afraid of this foreigner and bring him outside of the building.
After these words you walked away and I entered the tool-section in a bad mood because I had lost face as a customer in front of other customers and likewise your subordinates. However, I was followed by an "army" of at least four persons to "shadow" me, and they were really enjoying themselves.
Moreover, the next morning I talked to the security guard at the entrance (Mr. Orano) and asked him where the signboard was located on which it should be read that taking of pictures inside this establishment was prohibited by the management of Uymatiao Marketing Corporation. However, he could not affirm that question because he did not know about any such signboard and at such instance we were joined by another security guard (the parking guard) by the name of Flores and he started a lot of "jowjowjo" in Cebuano dialect by not even trying (or maybe he was not able) to understand my question. Thereafter I requested two Filipino friends to go inside the premises of your store and thereby to try to locate the "sign-boards" as mentioned above. After doing so they were able to inform me that there were at such instance no sign-boards as described herein above, except a sign which read " SMILE, YOU ARE ON CAMERA".   

My reply:
In the past I have been a customer of Uymatiao Marketing Corporation since the year of 1979, (including Majestic Hardware).
However, I began to purchase more items once your new location was opened because the prices were (and are likewise at the present date) fair and in several cases the lowest in Dumaguete city.
If you would ask one of your cashiers to type in the name KLOOTZAK on their keyboard you will find out thereby that last year I purchased quite some products such as wall-paneling, ceiling boards and other building materials, this beside the items in which case no names were entered on the sales-invoices.
It has always been my pleasure to walk around in your store because you have a wide assortment of products on display and your new store is a welcome improvement for the Dumaguete city public for reason that in many cases the buying public don't have to go to Cebu city anymore to purchase certain items like for example a complete pipe-bender, or a MIG/TIG welders amongst them.
I took the pictures for personal use only to make up my mind which item to buy and I am not involved (as one of your personnel tried to make it clear to me) in "industrial spying". In the past I have been taking pictures of angle-grinders and percussion-drills right beside your sales-personnel and NOBODY ever told me that I was not allowed to do so.
It has been always my pleasure to advise other foreigners to buy their products in Uymatiao Marketing Corporation because of the stocks and mainly very reasonable prices compared to "Handyman" in Robinsons as well in "Citiware".
I am still in need of a vacuum cleaner and some tools which are at a better price in Uymatiao Marketing Corporation.
In de past I have also been a friend to the late sir Wilcox Uymatiao who has always been giving me advise because he himself was a pioneer of "satellite-dish" TV in which case he had a big dish in the town of Sibulan. Sir Wilcox Uymatiao was really a gentleman and was always willing to help people with advice until the day somewhere in 1993 when he was brutally murdered in front of the stairway to his office. Only later it was ruled that he was an mistaken identity because the real target was someone related to Fortune Mart whereby the son in law of a certain Mr. Quiamco was shot dead. At such time I was good friends with several members of the Dumaguete city police force and it was my money which acquired bullets, snacks and gasoline for the police to follow up the case of these murders.
Moreover, I am likewise a friend of Mr. Youson Uymatiao for a long time now.
In view of the foregoing statement it is evidently that there are no grounds at all for me to engage into "industrial spying" for reason that I do not gain anything in engaging in such an act which could likewise endanger my life.
I do hereby offer my apologies in case I have offended you or anybody related to Uymatiao Marketing Corporation by taking some pictures and I hereby promise you that I WILL REFRAIN FROM TAKING PICTURES within your store premises.
